Today’s news report reveals that Cohere, a renowned AI startup platform for enterprises, sealed a deal with Palantir Technologies Inc. The objective of this partnership is to give clients access to several Artificial Intelligence solutions. What’s highlighting is that the collaboration between the two is secretive but appears before the media due to a video presentation held in November 2024.

Cohere: AI Startup

Cohere is an emerging AI startup for enterprises in Toronto and San Francisco. Its July 2024 valuation was estimated at $5.5 billion. The platform focuses on skills and experience in large language models (LLMs). The company’s co-founder is one of the authors of the paper “Attention Is All You Need," which led Cohere to reach sky heights in LLMs.

Cohere designs and provides advanced AI models to businesses and several enterprise clients, who deploy these AI tools to find solutions to complicated tasks. However, it lacks viral consumer chatbots like OpenAI and Anthropic.

Cohere and Palantir Partnership Revealed

Recently, a video, which was probably Palantir’s first developer conference, came out on November 2024, revealing that the two companies (Cohere and Palantir Technologies Incorporation) had united. Not only has this, but several Palantirs have already used Cohere’s artificial intelligence models. The specific customers' names are still under the cover.

Earlier, Palantir tried to show that it collaborated with Anthropic and asked to hand over AI to its customers. However, this video that Palantir posted cleared the air that it was also involved with Cohere for its AI tools. The video also showcased the viewpoints of Bill Trend, a former Palantir employee and Cohere engineer.

Bill conveyed his appraisal of a partnership with Palantir and is of the opinion that Palantir’s customers would utilise Cohere’s AI models. The process would be operational through Palantir’s Foundry platform, handling commercial enterprises rather than defence or intelligence agencies.

The former employee of Palantir Technologies also mentioned an example where Cohere solved strict data storage requirement issues. He believes that Cohere will be a one-stop solution in the future with its high-tech feature that performs inference in Arabic.

Cohere Silence on the Palantir Partnership

Cohere has worked with multiple tech companies, such as Fujitsu, Airbus, U.S. defence and intelligence agencies, and others. However, it has not revealed its collaboration with Palantir. The company is likely cautious about revealing details regarding defence-related partnerships.
