Meta has decided to take a step forward and has introduced its chatbots in WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger. Meta is calling it an advanced conversational assistant with multiple personalities incorporated such as Snoop Dogg, Tom Brady, Kendall Jenner and Naomi Osaka.

Meta AI claims that its assistant or chatbot can interact with you like a person. Developed from the ground up, it is powered by the latest large language model research and Llama 2 and to put things into real perspective, has access to real-time information through their search partnership with Bing. On top of that it is capable of not only editing your images but image generation as well.

The conversational chatbot with the huge dataset to consult with and with the added functionality of consulting the latest research is the deadly combination that other chatbots are missing. Whether you are looking for some sort of suggestions backed by meaningful research or want to fact-check something. Meta AI chatbot can get that done for you in no time.

Meta AI aims to make using chatbots fun rather than tedious conversational machines. It has introduced 28 different personalities to make interacting with AI more fun. Not only Meta AI has done extensive research on those personalities, but they also assigned and in some cases based those personalities on real-life characters and took cues from their behavioural characteristics.

Although Meta has significant investments to pump in this AI chatbot race, it is still early days and the chatbots are still a work in progress. So, there are visible limitations. According to some reports, there were some bizarre exchanges observed over social media by the Meta AI chatbots that highlighted ongoing constraints and possibilities of improving the model.

Apart from its limitations that are surely being addressed and will be ironed out soon by huge teams of developers and problem solvers, its qualities are undeniable. No matter what task is holding you back from making a firm decision, whether it is planning a trip with your friends, writing a quick official email, sending a quick punchline, or generating a quick photo caption, Meta AI can do that for you within a few clicks.

Another feature that Meta AI offers in addition to answering questions is to create AI-generated images simply by using the prompt “imagine”. Write the word and there you go, you have the AI-generated image that you can use anywhere royalty-free. Here is a fact for your amazement, Meta is currently built with 70 billion parameters while a bigger 400 billion parameter model is still in training and about to be unleashed.

Meta has only released its smaller version of Llama 3 and is still saving its larger model called Llama 3 for later. Meta is planning big things as it has introduced an AI studio where coders and non-coders alike are welcome to contribute to the AI revolution. They are also welcoming businesses to create AIs that reflect and enhance their brand value and improve client experiences. Meta is planning to welcome all sorts of creators to build systems that enable AI to extend its virtual presence across all sorts of applications. This will surely help the concept of AI to grow and evolve and can reach a higher level of realism, and functionality.

Meta AI’s advancements and willingness to implement its technology have put rivals such as Google, OpenAI, Cohere and so on high alert and it is time that they realize that they are being left behind in terms of platforms where they can experiment with their technology and the responses from its users. Open AI may be the pioneer in AI, but Meta has the absolute scale with the help of its social media networks and it stands the most chance to be used by its vast client base. It would be interesting to see who takes the edge in the race of AI chatbots.
