The organisation aims to keep AI a top priority as it develops to work for AI development and innovation. According to recent reports, Jay Parikh will lead this organisation. 

CoreAI To Focus on AI Development

Microsoft has taken further steps to develop and grow AI. It has launched a new engineering organisation, a new internal dev-focused AI organisation called CoreAI - Platforms and Tools. Microsoft is focused on AI infrastructure and software development as it creates CoreAI. 

CoreAI - Platforms and Tools 

Microsoft's new development, the new org, called CoreAI — Platform and Tools, combines Microsoft's existing Dev Div and AI platform teams with some employees in the Office of the CTO division. CoreAI worked to ensure AI remains a top priority. 

Jay Parikh to Lead CoreAI

According to recent news by Bloomberg, Jay Parikh, former VP and global head of engineering at Meta, will lead the new division. Jay Parikh directly reports to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella and oversees groups, including the company's AI platform and developer teams. 

When at Meta, Parikh worked on technical infrastructure and data centre projects. Before joining Microsoft in October, he was appointed the CEO of cloud security startup Lacework.

Microsoft Future with CoreAI

Satya Nadella, Microsft CEO, has recently shared a memo on Microsoft's blog stating that Microsoft's focus for the coming year will be on "model-forward" applications that "reshape all application categories." CoreAI launch will accelerate AI infrastructure, software development and innovate AI tech with the changing tech landscape.
